FLOW PRO: The Smart Thermostatic Head for Building Automation and Energy Efficiency

In a building, the heating system must be easy to control, reliable over time, remotely controllable, and fully integrated with Building Management Systems (BMS). FLOW PRO addresses these challenges with a compact, standalone thermostatic head that is easy to install.

FLOW PRO combines local control, long-lasting battery life, simplified configuration, centralized monitoring, and rugged field performance. Thanks to its connectivity, it integrates with energy management strategies and allows operators to monitor, adjust, and optimize heating system-wide from their building management system (BMS) platform.

A solution designed for apartment buildings, hotels, offices, schools, and commercial buildings.

NODE: Measuring Temperature in the Right Place

The temperature measured at the radiator may be affected by convection, exposure to sunlight, a curtain, or a draft.

FLOW PRO relies on the NODE** remote temperature sensor, which is ideally positioned in the room to measure a temperature that accurately reflects actual conditions, significantly improve control quality, and ensure occupant comfort.

The temperature is measured automatically every 10 minutes to adjust the control system more precisely and maintain a stable temperature over time.

NODE has been issued a calibration certificate by an independent COFRAC-accredited metrology laboratory to ensure reliable control that meets the requirements for commercial buildings.

The temperature is measured away from the radiator, directly in the room

Accuracy: ±0.5 °C

Fine-tuning of the thermostatic head to maintain a more stable set temperature

More consistent comfort

Heating control is based on measurements that more closely reflect how occupants feel

L2D1 Radio Link

Direct local communication between NODE and FLOW, without relying on the LoRaWAN network

Continuously adjustable heating, even without the
cloud or a wireless connection

FLOW PRO stores its heating schedules locally. The LoRaWAN thermostatic head therefore continues to regulate the heating even if network connectivity is temporarily unavailable.

The wireless network and the cloud are used to monitor, update settings, and report relevant information. It is not necessary to control each valve in real time.

Adjusting the temperature in 0.5 °C increments allows for finer tuning of the setpoint and improves room-by-room heating control.

Less reliance on the cloud

Control is not based on permanent remote commands

Optimized LoRaWAN Network

Radio communications are limited to essential information: status reports, alerts, and updates

Simple setup and quick deployment

FLOW PRO can be configured locally via contactless NFC technology using a smartphone, or remotely via the LoRaWAN radio network. This dual-approach simplifies installation and speeds up commissioning.

For a large fleet, parameters, schedules, and equipment can be configured at the branch office to reduce the time spent on-site during installation.

FLOW PRO is suitable for both renovation projects and multi-site deployments, with phased installation by building, zone, or equipment fleet.

NFC Settings

On-site survey

5 colored tabs make it easy to identify equipment during installation and maintenance

Simplified Installation

Compatible with a wide range of radiators thanks to the ADAPT** adapter line

Software that is updated remotely

FLOW PRO can receive software updates remotely via the LoRaWAN network.

The installed base thus benefits from security patches, improvements, and new features without the need for routine on-site intervention.

The software update extends the operational life of FLOW PRO for many years and simplifies maintenance for large-scale deployments.

This feature can leverage NAVIXIS, Nexelec’s IoT monitoring software, and its LoRaWAN gateways; featuring a tested and proven end-to-end FUOTA V2 LoRaWAN update pipeline: firmware preparation, network distribution, deployment tracking, and fleet status monitoring.

FLOW tête thermostatique

Up to 12 years of battery life, without relying on cutting-edge technology

Powered by four professional-grade lithium batteries—tested and validated by Nexelec—the FLOW PRO’s power supply relies on proven, stable, and predictable technology.

The battery life of the LoRaWAN thermostatic head does not depend on a Peltier-effect energy recovery system, whose performance can vary depending on the actual heating conditions of the radiator, the temperature difference, and the aging of the rechargeable battery.

A simple, robust, and fully controlled approach for multi-unit buildings.

Mastered Technology

A proven solution that does not rely on an unreliable Peltier-effect power supply

Less maintenance, greater service continuity

The cost of a LoRaWAN-connected thermostatic head is not limited to its purchase price.

Battery replacements, malfunctions, and service calls have a significant impact on total operating costs.

Battery monitoring tracks energy levels and activates a red indicator light to help anticipate maintenance needs.

With its long battery life, anti-seizing function, open-window detection, manual lock, and remote software updates, FLOW PRO significantly reduces service calls and helps maintain service quality.

Anti-seize

Move the piston regularly to prevent the valve from seizing, even when the heating system is not in use

Open Window Detection

The heating system pauses for 30 minutes in the event of a rapid drop in temperature

Control Lock

Disables the manual adjustment knob to prevent any local changes to the setpoint temperature

Business Continuity

Fewer breakages, less misuse, fewer on-site service calls

NAVIXIS: Building-Wide Heating Monitoring

With the NAVIXIS IoT monitoring software, FLOW PRO can be fully operated remotely.

The web platform allows users to control setpoints, monitor equipment, manage schedules, and analyze the consistency of the control system.

For building managers, NAVIXIS provides a clear overview of the building fleet and facilitates long-term energy optimization.
