At Nexelec, we consider data security to be essential. We protect our customers’ sensitive information to maintain their trust and comply with the law. We implement technical and organizational measures to guarantee maximum security. Our solutions are designed to be 100% secure and respect user privacy, in line with our policy. Our sensors collect and transmit information, which makes data security crucial.

How do we ensure that sensor data is private and secure?

In this article:

Data minimization

Data minimization is a key strategy at Nexelec to protect the confidentiality of the information collected by our sensors. It’s consists of reducing the amount or detail of information transmitted, as required. By collecting only relevant and necessary information, we limit the risk of piracy. Less information transmitted means fewer entry points for potential cyber-attacks. This approach not only protects users, but also enhances the overall effectiveness of our security systems.

Data transfer via Navixis

We use the HTTPS protocol to guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of information collected by our sensors during data transfer over the Internet.

The HTTPS protocol ensures secure transfer of information by encrypting data during transmission. This means that all communication between the sensors and our Navixis infrastructure is protected against unauthorized interception and manipulation.

Storing information on Navixis

As part of our information protection strategy, we attach great importance to secure indormation storage. At Nexelec, we store the information collected by our sensors on the Navixis platform, renowned for its compliance with security standards. Navixis guarantees information security through robust data protection and management protocols.

By using Navixis, we guarantee professional and secure management of our customers’ information, in line with our security and confidentiality standards.

Sensor information is automatically encrypted when stored in the Navixis cloud database. Using AES-256 encryption (Advanced Encryption Standard with 256-bit encryption keys), we ensure that information is protected against unauthorized access, guaranteeing the confidentiality and integrity of stored information.

Data encryption

As part of our security strategy, we consider data encryption to be an essential element. At Nexelec, we encrypt our sensor communications using the AES-128 algorithm under the LoRaWAN protocol. This level of encryption guarantees the protection of information transmitted between the sensors and our infrastructure.

We chose AES-128 because of its industry-recognized robustness and efficiency. By using this encryption, we ensure that information remains confidential and inaccessible to malicious third parties.
